In a rich 2-day course, you will understand the necessary theoretical basics, work out practical skills, and take part in live surgical operations!


After the course you will be able to:


– competently plan surgical interventions

– extract impacted teeth of any complexity

– perform germectomy

– apply the piezosurgical approach

– prescribe full set of postoperative procedures.


IMPORTANT: the price includes coffee breaks, lunch and dinner for friends.

Necessary tools for participants:

- Scalpel

- Blade N15

- Molt

- Forceps for extraction.



DAY 1


9.00 - 10.30

Upper jaw and mandible: hard palate, pterygopalatine fossa, internal maxillary artery, cheek (facial nerve, facial or maxillary artery, buccal fat pad, stensen’s duct), lips, mandible, buccal nerve, lingual nerve and artery, sublingual artery and gland; local anesthesia in dentistry, choosing the type of local anesthesia, factor that influence the choice of the type of anesthesia, pharmacologicals for patients with allergies, intravenous sedation surgical equipment, ergonomics in the operating room, room preparation, patient preparation, operator preparation.

Diagnostic imaging and radiological anatomy, flap design and suturing techniques.


13.30 - 14.30

Lunch break

Applications of ultrasonic waves in medicine, physics of ultrasonic waves, piezoelectric extractive techniques.


15.30 - 16.30

Surgery of impacted upper and lower third molars, problem related to impacted teeth, etiopathogenesis of dental inclusion, difference between impacted and retained tooth.


16:30 - 18.30

Hands-on training on surgery of impacted upper and lower third molars on animals models.



DAY 2


9.00 - 10.30

Germectomy: indications and surgical techniques; pre and post surgical pharmacology and management of patients at risk: antibiotic therapy, pain medication, intraoperative and postoperative complications (dry socket, edema, trismus, neurological complications, soft tissue laceration, fracture of roots, bone fracture).


10.30 13.00

Live surgeries: the attendees can join Prof. Cardarelli in the operating room.

Pionier in der Anwendung piezoelektrischer chirurgischer Techniken für minimalinvasive Zahnextraktion und Knochenchirurgie. Bekannt für akribische chirurgische Technik und Betonung der Traumaminimierung während komplexer Extraktionen und Knochenverfahren.

 

Autor des Lehrbuchs "Piezoelectric Surgery of Impacted Teeth" (EDRA Publisher, 2020), einer umfassenden Referenz zu piezochirurgischen Ansätzen der oralen Chirurgie. Autor zahlreicher wissenschaftlicher Publikationen und Buchkapitel über orale Chirurgie und Implantologie. Gründungsmitglied der San Raffaele Implant Cultural Association (ACRIS Research Group). Mitglied von SIMO (Società Italiana Maxillo Odontostomatologica), IAO (Italian Academy of Osseointegration), SICOI, SIDCO und International Extraction Academy of California.
