Lieutenant Colonel in the Brazilian Military Police Dental Department (since 1994). Specialist in endodontics with focus on advanced root canal anatomy research using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) technology. Co-creator of "The Root Canal Anatomy Project," a free online educational resource providing high-resolution 3D images and videos of root canal systems for educators, students, and clinicians worldwide.

Pioneer in applying micro-CT technology to study root canal morphology and its influence on endodontic treatment outcomes. Author of the influential textbook "Root Canal Anatomy in Permanent Dentition" (Springer, 2018, co-authored with Drs. Basrani and Sousa-Neto), translated into multiple languages and recognized as the definitive reference on root canal morphology. Co-author of "Shaping for Cleaning the Root Canals: A Clinical-Based Strategy," providing evidence-based protocols for canal instrumentation.
