WORKSHOPS

September 23

Andrei Tiberiu (FREE for those who bought congress tickets):

"Make your life easier! Tap into digital dentistry!"

The workshop will include a theory segment, expanding on basic notions regarding indirect prosthetic restorations, but also about the intraoral scanning protocol, the current method that lays the foundations of digitized dentistry. In the second segment of the workshop, students will have the opportunity to make model preparations for indirect restorations and to understand the stages of intraoral scanning.

Diego Lops (149 €):

"From the flap design to the guided bone regeneration. Through the implant placement in the anterior areas"

Theoretical Segment + Practical Segment with implant insertion and soft tissue management on pig mandibles.

Angelo Cardarelli (249 €):

"Piezosurgery treatment of impacted teeth"

The avulsion of the included or semi-included dental elements is one of the most frequently used clinical procedures performed by the oral surgeon. This practice can be relatively simple or extremely arduous in relation to many variables related to the element that have to be extracted such as the localization, anatomy of the dental crown and roots, depth and type of inclusion etc.

If some dental avulsion can be considered a routine dental surgery, the extraction of Dental elements included requires considerable technical preparation, accurate knowledge of all noble anatomical structures and a matured surgical experience. It is essential to perform a correct treatment planning that allows, on the one hand, to minimize the risk of post complications surgical (pain, edema, trismus, alveolitis ...) and, on the other, to be able to manage those complications in a correct way, always with the lowest biological cost for the patient.

In the latest years, Oral surgery has strongly suffered of the technological innovations introduced in this field. In particular, the use of ultrasound applied to surgery has changed some of the most frequent clinical procedures, such as the extraction of third parties molars included, thus spreading an innovative concept in all dentistry: piezoelectric surgery or piezosurgery.

Unlike implantology, it is a branch now widespread among dentists, extractive surgery still represents a «taboo» for many colleagues, who while practicing surgery daily implant, prefer to leave the avulsions often to maxillofacial surgeons or oral surgeons, considering it a intervention of greater complexity and often a source of anxiety and stress for the operator.

So taking care of about 10 years of simple and complex extractive surgery I had the need to elaborate a COURSE in which they are described in a simple and linear way the surgical techniques for the avulsion of the dental elements included, to provide a repeatable and predictable approach and method in order to reduce their invasiveness and traumaticity procedures.

Sam Omar (149 €):

"R2Gate implant planning software"

Theoretical Segment (software presentation and design instructions) + Practical Segment on laptops (planning and design of a surgical guide in case of insertion of a dental implant).

Planning is an essential part of a successful treatment planning, now with the rise of implant planning software it has now become easier to position your implants better and predict any additional procedure that might be needed during the surgery. In our workshop we will learn how to plan implants in the best biological and prosthetic position using R2GATE planning software.

Davide Farronato (199 €):

"Soft tissue grafting and immediate load creation"

– Managing implant primary stability;

– Creating an immediate loaded prosthesis;

– Managing the Emergence Profile;

– Managing the Tissue Contour;

– Execute tissue grafting.

Any clinician wants to obtain a predictable and stable aesthetic outcome in frontal implants in immediate loading scenario. A simulation of immediate implant povisionalization, emergence profile managing and soft tissue adaptation through grafts will be done on pig model. This will be a very dense workshop that may be held next to Dr’s technician in order to find the best link between the surgery and the prosthetic field. A step-by-step methodology will be shown and practiced by the participants.

Davide Farronato, Dan Referendaru (99 €):

"Primul MEU implant: planificarea etapelor chirurgicale de inserare a implantului"

Long-term viable results are obtained by using an implantprosthetic system that supports the biomechanical principles of the dentomaxillary apparatus.

We will briefly discuss the following:

– Managing implant primary stability;

– Analiza situs-ului implantar, planificarea poziției viitorului implant în funcție de dinții adiacenți si dinții antagoniști;

– Aspecte clinice pentru alegerea implantului ca lungime si diametru;

– Trusa chirurgicală si etapele inserării implantului dentar;

– Understanding and preventing risks and complications;

– Tipuri de lambouri folosite in implantologie.

– Tehnici de sutura.
