Magnetic resonance imaging is an important tool for the imaging and diagnosis of TMJ. In some guidelines, MRI is called the gold standard for analyzing the position of the articular disc. But, unfortunately, doctors are faced with conflicting information from condylography and radiology. Correct interpretation begins with the formulation of the correct request (disc, condyle, joint space, ligaments, etc.).
