In 2011 received the Schweitzer Research Award of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics (GNYAP). Served as President of the German Society for Prosthetic Dentistry and Biomaterials (DGPro). In 2020 received the IADR Distinguished Scientist Award for Research in Prosthodontics and Implants.
