Adjunct Professor für Kieferorthopädie und funktionelle Kieferorthopädie an der School of Dentistry der Arnaldo Jansen Faculty in Belo Horizonte, Brasilien, sowie Professor an der School of Dentistry von Unicentro Promove. Sein klinischer und wissenschaftlicher Schwerpunkt umfasst funktionelle Kieferorthopädie, temporomandibuläre Störungen, dentale Okklusion, Messung der Bisskraft, kraniofaziales Wachstum sowie die Anwendung von Bioengineering und Nanomaterialien bei der Entwicklung dentaler Geräte.
Er promovierte in Mechanical Engineering mit Schwerpunkt Bioengineering an der Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, UFMG. Seine Forschung verbindet Zahnmedizin und Ingenieurwissenschaften bei der Entwicklung und Validierung funktionell-orthopädischer Apparaturen, darunter eine retrospektive Studie zu Behandlungsergebnissen der funktionellen Kieferorthopädie bei TMD-Patienten, veröffentlicht im Journal of Jaw Functional Orthopedics and Craniofacial Growth. Er ist Mitautor des Atlas of Construction of Orthopedic Functional Appliances, portugiesische Ausgabe. Er ist Mitglied der Academy of Dentistry of Minas Gerais.
