Professor am Department of Oral Health Sciences, Section Endodontology, der KU Leuven University, Belgien, und behandelnder Kliniker an den University Hospitals of Leuven. Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt auf minimalinvasiver Endodontie, externer zervikaler Wurzelresorption und der Entwicklung neuer Materialien und biologischer Techniken für die endodontische Therapie.
Er ist Mitautor der ESE Position Statement on Root Resorption von 2023, dem Konsensusdokument der European Society of Endodontology, veröffentlicht im International Endodontic Journal. Er ist Autor und Koautor indexierter Forschung zu prädisponierenden Faktoren der externen zervikalen Resorption und zu Langzeitergebnissen der Behandlung. Darüber hinaus trägt er zum KU Leuven BIOMAT-Forschungscluster bei, einer der führenden europäischen Forschungsgruppen für dentale Biomaterialien.
