Das Forschungsprogramm des B4T umfasst biomimetische Adhäsivzahnmedizin, faserverstärkte Komposite für gebrochene und gerissene Zähne, Remineralisierungsmaterialien, selbstätzende Adhäsive, Kompositzemente, Komposite der nächsten Generation sowie die Anwendung der Optischen Kohärenztomographie (OCT) und CAD/CAM in der minimal-invasiven Restaurativen Praxis. Autor und Mitautor von nahezu 200 Peer-Review-Wissenschaftsartikeln. Akademischer Berater und Ehrenmitglied der Academy of Biomimetic Dentistry (ABD).

Mitdirektor von Kursen zur fortgeschrittenen digitalen Zahnmedizin an der University of Washington. Referent bei Zahnforschungskongressen und Fortbildungsveranstaltungen in Nordamerika, Europa und Asien.
