Las matrices funcionales como los ojos, el cerebro, la lengua, los senos paranasales y los dientes; son de suma importancia para el desarrollo del complejo naso maxilar y el complejo cráneo cervico mandibular.
Todos transitamos a través de 3 picos de crecimiento importantes y es durante estos 3 picos donde se toman decisiones clínicas. Debemos observar como se desarrollan estas tres etapas del crecimiento y además como las matrices funcionales ejercen su influencia sobre la conformación del perímetro de arco junto con el desarrollo trasversal y vertical de la cara.
