When discussing endodontic outcomes, different opinions emerge on what outcomes are actually relevant for our patients. In general, dentists look towards the research to find answers, however there are many misunderstandings from the presentation of raw numbers and statistics that can easily confuse the reader to infer the wrong conclusions about endodontic outcomes.The aim of this lecture is to provide insight into developing better understanding of endodontic outcomes through careful evaluation of the literature as well as discovering and accepting our own cognitive biases and how they can be changed when presented with new or contradicting information, thus better serving our patients for predictable patient centered outcomes.

Endodontologe in Vollzeit-Überweisungspraxis, Fachpraxis für Endodontie, in Stuttgart seit 2001, der seit 2006 ausschließlich Überweisungen für endodontische Behandlungen annimmt. Sein klinischer Schwerpunkt umfasst nichtchirurgische und chirurgische Endodontie, Mikrochirurgie sowie die Integration von CBCT mit der Dokumentation über das Dentalmikroskop, Arbeitsabläufe, deren Standardisierung er durch Lehre und Publikationen mitgeprägt hat.
Autor mehrerer indexierter Fachartikel zur Dokumentation mit dem Dentalmikroskop und zur Ergonomie in der endodontischen Praxis. International Key Opinion Leader für Dentalunternehmen zu mikroskopgestützter Zahnmedizin, Dokumentationsstandards und der Anwendung von CBCT in Diagnostik und Behandlungsplanung; er vertritt Hersteller und Fachgremien auf Kongressen in Deutschland und international.
DDS, Freie Universität Berlin, 1996 bis 2001. Mitglied mehrerer deutscher und europäischer Fachgesellschaften, darunter Deutsche Gesellschaft für Endodontologie und zahnärztliche Traumatologie, DGET, und European Society of Endodontology, ESE.
