Professor für Physiologie und Biomechanik des Kausystems an der Clinic of Masticatory Disorders, Removable Prosthodontics, Geriatric and Special Care Dentistry, Center of Dental Medicine, University of Zurich, Schweiz. Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt umfasst quantitative Biomechanik des Kiefergelenks, virtuelle Kieferbewegungsanalyse, Mechanobehavior-Scoring und computergestützte Modellierung der Kaubelastung.
Er ist ein Pionier der virtuellen und nichtinvasiven biomechanischen Analyse des Kausystems und verfügt über mehr als 5.000 wissenschaftliche Zitationen. Seine Forschungsbeiträge umfassen TMJ-Belastungsmechanik, Kondylenmorphologie, neuromuskuläre Kieferkoordination und biomechanische Determinanten degenerativer TMJ-Erkrankungen, publiziert im Journal of Dental Research, Journal of Biomechanics und anderen führenden Fachzeitschriften.
