Является директором магистерского курса «Перио-имплантат-протезирование» в университете Unicamillus в Риме.

Является сотрудником Министерства Здравоохранения Италии.

Соредактор учебника «Пародонтология», соавтор учебника «Клиническая пародонтология и имплантология» Дж. Линде, Т. Карринг, Н. П. Ланг, редактор учебника «Атлас SIdP Пародонтология и имплантотерапия» А. Каррасси, П. Кортеллини, Л. Тромбелли, ред. Quintessenz Publishing. Широко публиковался в международных журналах по пародонтологии.

Европейская Федерация Пародонтологии в 2015 году удостоила  награды «За выдающиеся заслуги в области пародонтологии» за выдающиеся заслуги перед EFP и за вклад в области пародонтологии, а также диагностику и лечение заболеваний пародонта.

Он является почетным членом Итальянской Академии Ортопедической Стоматологии (AIOP), Германия.

Gianfranco Carnevale graduated as a Medical Doctor and specialized in Odontostomatology at the University of Rome, Italy.

He received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies and a Master of Science in Periodontology at Boston University, BOSTON, USA.

He is Past-President of the Italian Society of Periodontology (SIdP) and of the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP). Since the year 2014 he is President of the Federation of the Italian Dental Scientific Societies (CIC).

He is the Director of a Master course in “ Perio-implant–prosthetics” in the University Unicamillus in Rome.

He is a member of the Technical Group in Dentistry of the Ministry of Health.

Co-Editor of the text-book “Parodontologia”, co-author of the text-book “Clinical Periodontology and Implant Dentistry” J. Lindhe, T. Karring, N. P. Lang Editors and of the text-book “SIdP Atlas of

Periodontology and Implant therapy” A. Carrassi, P. Cortellini, L. Trombelli eds. Quintessenz Publishing. USA; he has published extensively in international Periodontal Journals.

The European Federation of Periodontology in 2015 has honored him with the “Eminence in Periodontology Award” in recognition of outstanding service to the EFP and contributions to the understanding of the field of periodontology and the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases.

He is a honorary member of the Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry (AIOP) and of Neue Gruppe -Die wissenschaftliche Vereinigung von Zahnärzten in Germany
