La distalización de molares es una alternativa de tratamiento propuesta por el Dr. Hilgers hace ya muchos años, esta técnica preconiza la distalización de las primeras y segundas molares generando un espacio generoso para resolver muchos de los problemas presentados en nuestra clínica diaria.
existen requisitos indispensables para poder utilizar un aparato pendular, no todo paciente es candidato para este tipo de aparatología; uno de los requisitos debe ser la distancia que existe de distal de la molar a la línea PT vertical tal medición deberá ser la edad del paciente más 3 mm, debe poseer una buena base craneal, un buen neuromuscular, debemos tomar en cuenta como se encuentra nuestro eje facial, ya que la distalización genera apertura del eje facial, como en todo tratamiento de ortodoncia lo más importante será el diagnóstico para así escoger la herramienta de trabajo mas adecuada para el caso.
